1. Access the content editor
2. Select the item you want to become a link
Before any item can be formatted or styled in an article it must be selected by either clicking on the item, for example an image, or a double-click to select a whole word in a sentence.
Text can be selected either by clicking and dragging to select a block of text, or by double-clicking on a specific word to select just that word.
3. Click on the link icon (it looks like a chain link with a green plus next to it)
4. This will open the Advanced Link Editor

5. If you want to point to an external website, type the url of the destination site directly into the URL field.
You can also link to documents - see linking to a document such as a PDF
If you just want to link to other content on the site, you can do this via the Link browser part of this box illustrated above.
6. Navigate through the items listed (eg a menu item or a specific content article) in the Link Browser.
Click on the menu item or content that you want to point to, so it is selected.
7. Click on Insert
8. In the attributes window at the bottom of the window, select the target to open in this window or open in new window depending on which you want it to do.
Many people like to set it to open in a new window if linking to another site.
9. Give the link a suitable title - this aids search engine visibility.
10. Click on Insert
If you have long pages, you may want to add a link from the top of a page to the bottom for example.
To do this you have to put an anchor in the page at the point that you want to link to (or the destination):
1. Position your cursor at this point and click on the anchor icon.
2. A small pop up will display
3. Enter a name for the anchor
4. Click on insert. A small anchor icon will appear in the content.
5. Now follow the same process for Adding a Link.
6. When you click on the add link icon, instead of adding a url, select the anchor you have just added from the anchors list under Attributes in the bottom part of the Advanced Link Editor.
7. Click on insert
1. Open the content you wish to edit and select the text that has been linked.
2. Click on the 'Unlink' icon.
You can place a link on an image in the same way you do to text.
Instead of selecting the text you want to be the link, simply select the image and follow the same steps.
