Small business is visible on the world's stage

Being a one-man consultancy business based in the small town of Thames on the Coromandel Peninsula doesn't stop Matthews Civil marketing their services to companies around the globe.

From nowhere to the front page of Google

Sometimes your site just needs a good spring clean!

A local promotional product company wanted more business, but didn't want to invest in a complete redesign of their website.

They have a loyal existing customer base but wanted to attract new customers. A review of the site revealed opportunities to improve certain elements and a search optimisation and site improvement project was undertaken.

Simple changes, big results

Essentee conducted a review of a small business website.  The client sells specialist software, and runs advertising on the site.

After the review,  number of improvements were recommended including:

  • improve the search engine visability of the site, primarily through inclusion of focused keywords and removal of crawler obstacles such as use of images for headings
  • improve visability of primary call to action
  • tidy layout and presentation so content is easier to read and focused

Being a software developer, the site owner was able to performed the changes himself.  The layout and content of the site was overhauled and simplifyied - focusing on the site's main purpose.  Google analytics is now being used to track visitor behaviour.

As a result of the changes (made in August relected by low activity in the chart), the site owner has reported a dramatic increase in software sales and ad revenue.
